Worth a thousand words...

Edward Hopper's artwork is not, as a whole, comprised of paintings that I love. However, there are a scattered few that have a certain biting universality. I like them. They remind me of a clean, simple, yet intense world. Basic human emotions on canvas.




This would be my favorite...

ah, I LOVE 'the ny movie - the element of the backstage is pregnant with emotion and absolutely brilliant. if only we could glimpse at his face. i just saw this somewhere the other day, and it's driving me crazy where... biting universality, yes.
